Natural-ingredient deodorants that pass a published checklist

How products are chosen

The natural test

A deodorant is listed only when every ingredient on the maker's published list is a plant, a mineral, or a simple derivative of one (for example glycerin, tocopherol or a plant-oil ester), with no silicones, PEG or PPG compounds, synthetic polymers or synthetic fragrance, and when the list also passes the checklist used on non-toxic-deodorant.com: no aluminium compounds, parabens, phthalates, triclosan or triclocarban, or fragrance/parfum. Every ingredient must be named. Products with certified-organic ingredients are shown first, but a few organic ingredients do not make a product organic. Products that carry the USDA Organic seal on the product itself are on organicdeodorant.fyi.

Sources

Each page uses the maker's product page plus at least one further source we actually opened, and shows the date checked. We leave out products we cannot confirm are currently sold.

No invented rankings

We do not publish scores that have not been earned. Products our editor has tested hands-on get an Editor's Choice call-out and are listed as the Best; no product carries that label until it has been tested. We do not accept payment for placement, and the facts on each product page come from the maker's own page and at least one other source.
